Valentine Samuel Ferretti, 75, of Greensburg died comfortably in the evening of Monday June 17, 2024 in his home. He was born in Charleroi on July 30, 1948 to Delphine (Brizzi) Ferretti and the late Valentine Ferretti. Val was, a man of intelligence and had a distinguished character. He attended Mon- Valley Catholic high school and went on to study English and English Literature at Duquesne University where he earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees. Val embraced academics and culture, and had a passion for teaching, which lead him to be a dedicated Professor of English Literature and Drama at Westmoreland County Community College for many years. Val was a published author and always held a gentle but powerful presence in the classroom. He will be forever cherished for his kind spirit, and forever respected, remembered and loved for his art of teaching with enthusiasm and inspiring so many of his students, colleagues, and friends, as well as his unfaltering dedication to his family. Val’s presence will be missed daily by his mother Delphine Ferretti of Rostraver; sister Diane Madara of Erie; many cousins; and best friend William McGuirk of Greensburg. Val joins in heaven his father Valentine Ferretti and his dog Lucky.
