Sue Ellen Hood

Sue Ellen Hood of Hunker died peacefully September 17, 2021 at the age of 71.  She was born in Mt. Pleasant December 2, 1949 to the late Clair J. and Elizabeth J. (Galvin) Kunkle.   Sue was retired and a strong advocate for Unions throughout her career.  Friends were her family, and after retirement she cherished her times at her camp, which was truly her “getaway from all life’s problems.” She was active in many local social clubs including the A &B Club of Youngwood whose members have shown Sue so much love and affection. Sue was a devoted mother, sister, and dear friend who will be deeply missed, and forever remembered by everyone who knew her for her warm spirit, her true dedication to her friends and family, and her most giving heart. She is survived by her daughter Amy Hood; grandchildren Stephanie Myers and Jacob Eckard; brother Phillip Kunkle of Latrobe; sisters Elizabeth (Betty) (Michael) Brdar of Bear Rocks, and Mary (Frank) Snyder of Greensburg; nephews William Kunkle, Sean Kunkle, Joel Snyder; niece Jessica Brdar, and devoted friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Clair J. Kunkle Jr “Buddy”; and nephew Richard Kunkle.  Per Sue’s request all services will be private and entrusted to ASHLEY D. X.
