Skyla Renayé Nixon

Skyla Renayé Nixon, 11 months young, of Greensburg earned her wings on the morning of Tuesday, January 4, 2022 as she was led by the angels into Heaven with her deeply devoted Mommy and Daddy right by her side.  She was born on January 29, 2021 in Pittsburgh, PA; a true guiding light to her parents, Karl Nixon and Ronda Randolph’s lives. 

Skyla was a precious infant diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome prior to her birth and developed pulmonary vein stenosis at 4 months of age. She grew into a fiercely brave baby girl, who brought strength, unfaltering courage, and hope to everyone who encountered her on her earthly journey.  Skyla adored being surrounded by her family, especially being snuggled, and would light up with the biggest smile and sweet giggles when she was kissed; a contagious smile that commanded a presence in the room. She loved watching Disney movies with her three favorites being Moana, Coco, and Frozen. She was a happy little girl with a gentle soul who never missed a beat and told you when she didn’t like something with her definite body language, a trait that was so distinct, loveable, and welcomed. She was feisty, vibrant, and very animated; never hesitating enthusiastically letting everyone know her opinion.  For our hearts are broken and will be forever imprinted with her warm smile that gave sunshine to every day, her everlasting sweet spirit, and leading our family without fear.

In addition to her parents, Karl and Ronda, Skyla is survived by her grandmothers; Patricia Nixon and Brenda Randolph-Moorehead; grandfathers, Kenneth Patterson Sr. and Ronald Moorehead; her aunts, Olivia Moorehead, Klarissa Smith, Shamieka Nixon Kathleen LaToya Britt, Keisha Patterson and Chanelle Wilson; her uncles,Kevin Nixon, Shameik Nixon, Christopher Nixon, and Leonard Nixon; her Godmother, Kailah Aaron; and her caregiver, Amber Mauck with Excela Hospice who was most comforting, gave compassion and shelter from the storm to Skyla and her family.

Please join us to celebrate Skyla’s life and welcome her new life in Heaven with a viewing on Sunday January 16, 2022 at ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREAMTION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 DEPOT ST.
