Sherry Lee (Brooks) Higgins, 59, of New Stanton died peacefully at her home surrounded by her devoted family on November 20, 2024 after a fierce battle with cancer. She was born July 24, 1965, in Lancaster, PA. Sherry was a graduate of Hempfield High School class of 1983, and along with her beloved husband of 41 years, she raised their family in Hempfield Township where she was an amazing compassionate, and protective mother and grandmother. Her family was her reason, and Sherry’s gave them the best of her always being selfless putting everyone first, embracing the greatest role in her life. She was a talented cake baker and an incredible cake decorator, most recently working at Sam’s Club bakery for the last ten years. She loved being outdoors with her family and spent time in the summers at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground, as well as camping in Bedford. Sherry’s gentle giving spirit and deep heart will always be missed, as she was a source of comfort and stability to all who knew her. Sherry is survived by her best friend and husband Jonathan “Mark” Higgins Sr.; mother Reida Lindquist of South Carolina; daughter Amber Higgins (Nick Gilarno); sons Jonathan M.
