Ronald Charles Bloom, “Bloomer”, 76 of Youngwood earned his wings on Friday September 29, 2023 in his home surrounded with love. He was born in Jeannette on August 7, 1947 to the late Robert L. and Thelma M. (Fickner) Bloom. He was a graduate of Jeannette High School and a resident of Youngwood for over 35 years. Ronald worked at Westinghouse for many years, as well as being a truck driver. Bloomer was quite the jokester, he was very social, very funny, and always had a way to lighten the mood. He loved to shoot pool and was in a pool league at the Biltmore Bar where he could be found passing the time with his best friend Kenny and also where he met his beloved wife Kathleen. Together they took many trips to Erie for his birthday cruising on their motorcycle and wrapping up the day watching his two favorite shows together, The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres. Bloomer was an avid bowler, water skier, bled black and gold for his Steelers football, and adored his two cats Gigi and Reesie. His spirited personality and deep devotion for his family and friends, will forever be remembered by his wife; Kathleen (Pahel) Bloom; daughter Chris Bloom of Florida; sisters Marlene Kidd (Wesley), Deborah Schaude (Edward), and Cindy Smith (John); brother-in-law Donald Pahel (Cyndie), sister-in-law Karen Washington (Bruce); and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. In addition to his parents, Ron was greeted in heaven by his mother-in-law Vi whom he had a very special place in heart for and loved dearly. The family would like to thank Excela Hospice nurse Dary Ann and aide Lori as well as his friends and caretakers Denise, Sue, and Deb for their care and compassion of Ronald and continued support and comfort to his family.
