Robert Joseph Brown, 86 of Tarrs passed away peacefully Friday November 15, 2024 at Transitions Nursing Facility in North Huntingdon. He was born March 13, 1938 in Braddock to the late John T. Brown and Mary Ann (Nadel) Rutter. Bob enlisted in the U. S. Marines at 17, and was stationed in San Diego at Camp Pendleton from 1955-1959. Upon discharge, Bob returned to PA and met his best friend Marlene in September of 1964. They would go out dancing nightly cutting up the dance floor with the jitterbug and polkas, and over the Christmas holiday he made her his beloved bride on December 26, 1964. Together they happily built and raised their family on a foundation of love in Penn Township and later on in Hempfield Township. It was during these early years that Bob began his career at Forest Hills Transfer and Storage, working hard as a truck driver for the next 43 years until his retirement. A dedicated family man who loved to spend time at his camp in Slippery Rock, he enjoyed bowling, fishing and being with his family; Bob, always positive, supportive, and protective. His tender heart and spirited personality will be recalled fondly and often as his daily presence will be so deeply missed by all who knew him. Robert leaves a legacy of bravery and strength and unfaltering loyalty to his surviving wife of 59 years Marlene Agnes (Dumsick) Brown; children Lisa Wigginton (Erick) of New Stanton, William Brown (Crystal Mahaffey) of South Carolina; Daniel Brown (Sherry) of Meyersdale, and Linda Good (Randy) of New Stanton; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and four sisters; Millie Morrison, Linda Spain, Rita Brekke, and Donna Parker. In addition to his parents John and Mary Ann, Robert was predeceased by his sister Carol Ann Blowers. The family would like to thank Transitions as well as Gateway Hospice for their gentle care of Bob, and comfort they provided to the family during this delicate time. All arrangements will be private and entrusted to ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREMATION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 DEPOT ST. YOUNGWOOD, PA 15697.
