Marilyn W. Greenawalt, 74, of Ruffsdale, died Friday, April 24, 2026, at Westmoreland Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27, 1951, in Orange, N.J., daughter of the late Frederick and Charlotte Weiss. A graduate of Albright College, Marilyn and her husband, Robert, owned and operated G Wiz Workshop for more than 20 years. She was rarely without a paintbrush in her hand as together they made wooden lawn ornaments to be sold at craft shows around the country. After retiring, they turned their creativity toward an elaborate Christmas display outside their Ruffsdale home, which became a local favorite. “Little Gree” was a loving grandmother who enjoyed sewing, baking and needlepoint – over the years, her hands must have placed millions of stitches. She especially enjoyed winters in Florida, where she was happiest in the sunshine with her toes in the sand. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert; sons Erik (Julie) Greenawalt of North Huntingdon and Jason (Niki) Greenawalt of Greensburg; grandchildren Jaycie, Jenna, Kara, Ben, and Mackenzie; a brother, Frederick (Christine) Weiss of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Per Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please visit our tribute wall to leave a condolence or share a memory of Marilyn.
