Marietta Boyd Platt

Marietta Boyd Platt, 82 of Mount Pleasant went to heaven on Sunday August 20, 2023 in her home surrounded by love.  She was born in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on September 16, 1940 to the late Audi Boyd and Goldie (Castle) Slate.  Marietta was always outgoing and full of life, she was very funny, loved going to auctions and truck pulls, and was a country girl at heart. She lived in many places and her distinct personality will forever be remembered as she was feisty and attributed it to her half Cherokee Indian heritage which she very proud of. Her kind heart and sweet disposition will be missed daily by her surviving family; half sister Frieda Crabtree; cousins Sara Seaton, James Pirl, Andrew Pletcher, Alysha McCloy- Pletcher, Jessica McCloy- Pletcher; and Mark Pletcher. Marietta was preceded in death by her parents Audi Boyd & Goldie Slate, step-father Sam Slate, her husband William Platt, and Sharon McCloy-Pletcher who cared for Marietta from 2016 until her passing in 2020.
