Kenneth C. Long Sr.

Kenneth C. Long, Sr.  77, of Hempfield, PA, died Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Independence Health, Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Ken was born July 2, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant.  He was a son of the late William V. Sr. and Margaret M. (Varholla) Long.   Ken was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School. Ken was a proud Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War era. Prior to his retirement, he was an over the road truck driver. He was predeceased by his wife of 28 years, Pamela J. Long in February 2022.  Surviving are his children; Kenneth C. (Jennie) Long, Jr., of Unity Township, Tammy J. (Bryan) Shabe of Hempfield; four grandchildren, Bethany (John) Wenzel, Michael Shabe, Jonathan (Emily) Shabe, Mackenzie Long; four great grandchildren, a sister, Rose Marie "Doll" Long, of Akron, Ohio; and his special dog, Mea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers William Long Jr. and Robert R. Long. Interment will be private in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
