John "Dan" Daniel Kelly

John Daniel Kelly, “Dan”, 73, formally of Hermine, currently of Sugar Grove, PA, died tragically in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, February 25 2022 in Madison, PA. He was born on February 27, 1948, one of three children to the late James and Ann (Kozak) Kelly. 

Dan was a graduate of Sewickley High school and was a retired truck driver. He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and friends quickly became family. He was proud Army Vietnam Airborne Veteran.  The essence of Dan was living in the moment whether he was fishing, bow hunting, ripping on his Harley Davidson, playing his bass guitar & harmonica, or his favorite activity spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Dan was a leader with kindness, compassion, deep loyalty, and headstrong determination. He was a tremendous father, grandfather, brother, and the best friend you would want to have. 

A legacy of his lifelong passion of music, love of the outdoors, riding motorcycles, his dedication to his family, and everlasting spirit will continue to ripple through this lifetime, and light the way.

Dan is survived by his daughter Heidi Ann Kelly of Gaithersburg, MD; his three cherished grandchildren, Malykai, Harley, and Sabrina; his brother Jim (Pat) Kelly of West Newton; and countless friends who will sorely miss his daily presence. 

In addition to his parents, he was welcomed into his next phase by his sister LaVonne Suman, and daughter Alysa “A.K.” Kelly.
