John R. Sabo

John R. Sabo, 78 of North Huntingdon died on February 6, 2023 at The Grove in Irwin. He was the youngest of 5 children, born February 11, 1944 in McKeesport to the late John Sabo and Louise Bouras. John's grandparents immigrated from Poland and Hungary to the USA thru Ellis Island.  They settled in the coal -mining town of Southwestern PA called Besco, right outside of Fredericktown and Bentleyville. John graduated McKeesport High School in 1962 and the day after graduation he voluntarily enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served on secret missions as a Military Policeman in the Vietnam War from 1962 - 1965.  While in the service he kept in touch with fellow McKeesport High School student Joan Woodring, and they fell in love through love letters sent back and forth. When John exited the USAF, he began his career with US Steel, and September 6, 1969 he married the love of his life Joan. Eight years later, after the birth of their 2 children, they had finally completed their family and their home on Warren Avenue, in North Huntingdon, PA.  This is where John lived until 2016, before moving into The Grove in Irwin where he lived until the time of his death. John is survived by loving daughter Rebecca L. Sabo-Naderi of New York; adored grandson Robert John Naderi; sister Betty Miller of Los Angeles, CA; and brother Carl Sabo of Columbus, Ohio.  In addition to parents John Sabo & Louise Bouras; step-father Nichols Bouras; and his wife Joan E. Sabo who passed in 2009, he joins his son Kristofer and sisters, Dolores Astin and Lois Jackson in heaven, who both passed after their courageous fights from cancer.
