Fay A. Shumaker of Mount Pleasant died of natural causes on Friday, June 14th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Harry W. and the late Ethel Lee (née Cardno) Rager Jr.. Fay was known for her bold and free-spirited personality, as well as her passion for advocating for children and animals. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Harley Davidson, and was a talented crafter and baker.. Her greatest joy was being “Grammy Fay”, a proud Grandmother. Fay is preceded in death by mother, Ethel Lee, and brother-in-law Henry “Sonny”. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Alvin “Skip” Shumaker; father Harry W. Rager Jr.; children Brittany L. (Scott) Beresford and David J. Closson; stepsons Joshua and Jeremy Shumaker; grandsons Koa and Lee Beresford; sisters Brenda L. (Bob) Friedman and Tina M. (Sonny) Cominsky; and several nieces and nephews. At Fay’s request there will be no services. All arrangements entrusted to ASHLEY D. X.
