Ethel M. (Housholder) Cute, 94 of Greensburg, Hempfield Township dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to sleep in the arms of The Lord May 9, 2026. She was born in Johnstown September 19, 1931 to the late Archie P. and Malinda Jane (Clawson) Housholder. Ethel was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she a member of the Altar-guild and worked in the kitchen. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting, bowling, baking, and loved spending time with her family. She carried a calm wisdom about her and lived a life well lived and worth remembering. Her nurturing deep love and bright light will be carried forever by her surviving family; children Martin C. Cute of Oregon, Peter J. Cute, and Tacy Newcomer (Bob Murphy); her “Babies” whom Ethel never missed a beat with and always supported in all their accomplishments, her nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Joan Cute. In addition to her parents, Ethel was reunited in heaven with her husband Charles E. Cute; beloved son Edward B. Cute Sr. & granddaughter Valerie Ann Cute; brother Ralph Boyd Housholder, and sister Janet C. Dean. Please join us with a Visitation Saturday May 23, 2026 at 10 am until time of Funeral Liturgy at 11 am at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 126 N 4th St. Youngwood, PA 15697 with Reverend Peter Nordby presiding. The family would like to thank the Mt. View Senior Living staff for their comfort and care during Ethel’s stay.
