Elizabeth Jane Richards, "Betty" gained her halo and wings the afternoon of Saturday February 10, 2024. She was born in Canonsburg on December 11, 1923 to the late Thomas and Emma (Fidel) Bittner. She was a licensed beautician and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 42 years and never took a day off. Betty traveled extensively in her lifetime, and visited 44 different countries, often times with her best friend Audrey Santel. She never married or had children but truly cherished all her nieces and nephews. Betty is survived by nephews Henry Cook Jr., and Robert Mcilvanie; great nephews and nieces Henry Cook III, Debbie Lutz, Scott Cook, and Jason Cook; and Rebecca Shellenberger; twelve great- great nieces and nephews; fourteen great-great-great nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Audrey Santel.
