Douglas Ward McCoy, 64, of North Huntingdon died peacefully Wednesday May 29, 2024. He was born October 7, 1959 in Johnstown to Ward and Arlene (Morgan) McCoy. Douglas was a graduate of Ligonier Valley Senior High School, class of 1977, and went on to attend Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA later attending Marshall University in Huntingdon, W. V. He played football at Marshall as a defensive tackle and studied Economics and Managerial Economics, and pursued a successful career in healthcare sales. Doug held a strong faith in God throughout his life, loved to play tennis and golf, was a caddy when he was a young man, jammed to 70’s southern rock, and enjoyed spending time with his friends, that became family; but what he cherished most in his life was his daughters and the beautiful relationship he had with them. He loved spending time with them and creating fond memories by teaching them how to play tennis, attending lacrosse games, eating Mo Joes together after school, or watching Ben Roethlisberger while living in Raleigh, N.C. while they grew up. Douglas leaves a legacy of bravery and strength and unfaltering loyalty to his surviving daughters Meghan and Emma McCoy (Pam) of North Carolina; parents Ward and Arlene McCoy; brother Robert McCoy (Kelly); brother Greg McCoy (Audrey) and nephews Jonathan and Josh McCoy.
