Donald Reed Obituary

Donald Wayne Reed 61 of Greensburg died on March 18, 2026 at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in Charleroi on February 2, 1965 to the late Melvin E. and Jean Mullen (Fagan) Reed Sr. and he grew up in South Huntingdon Township.  Don was a Marine serving active duty from 1984-1992 and proudly in Desert Storm.  He was a gun enthusiast and collector of firearms.  He loved to hunt with his family as well as fish, was a huge Sci-Fi fan, and a dedicated Star Trek “Trekker”- a more serious fan than a “Trekkie”.  He worked for over a decade for Sony from the year they opened until their closure as a chemical processor for glass.  Donald was a man who remained private throughout his life but was will always be remembered for his extreme loyalty to his family and friends.   He will forever be missed by his wife of 27 years Helen Louise (Baker) Reed; his black cat Tater-Tot; brothers Alan and Melvin Reed Jr.; sister Debbie Devore; sister and brother-in-laws; Bill Dzubak (Rose), Mary Mazzaferro, Pauline Klingensmith (Paul), Nicki Prinkey (Bill), and Lloyd Baker (Karen); many nieces and nephews; and caretakers Summit Jordan and Josephine Flynn who Don considered and called his “nieces”.  All services are private and entrusted ASHLEY D.
