Deborah Lee Curry, loving mother, wife, sister and aunt, was led into Heaven on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She died at home, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 28, 1951, in United, to the late Samuel and Leona (Lowther) Trout. Deborah was a woman of fierce faith in the Lord, and was a stalwart parishioner of Church of God in South Greensburg. She met her best friend and husband, Mike, at the Red Rooster, where they had their first dance of many over the half-century they spent blissfully married to each other. They built their life around their children, settling in Youngwood to raise their tight-knit family. Deborah loved feeding the birds and letting the dogs in the house, was a talented crafter, and enjoyed her chocolate and cradling sweet babies. She will be forever remembered for her steadfast and loyal devotion to her family, her soft, sweet spirit of grace and beauty, and her deep commitment to God. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Charles "Mike" Curry; her children, Charles "Mike" Curry Jr. and Desiree Cottrell; brother, Samuel Trout Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; nieces, Rhonda (Wes) Wilkins, Tracy (Dana) Morton and Jeanne (Donald) Bacco; nephews, Allen (Mary) Trout, Kerry (Michelle) Trout and Samuel Trout III, all of Mt. Pleasant; and very special friend, Starr Smitley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Wian; brother-in-law, William Wian; and sister-in-law, June Trout. Please join us to celebrate Deborah's life with viewing from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m., with service immediately following at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at the ASHLEY D. X.
