Carol Ann (Shirey) Murphy, 65, of Greensburg, went home to sleep in the arms of the Lord the evening of Sunday January 28, 2024, at Oak Hill Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born, September 1, 1958 in New Orleans to the late Tom and Anna (Zurick) Shirey
Carol grew up in the Dorothy Patch neighborhood of Latrobe, was a graduate of Latrobe High School and held an Associates Degree in Accounting from WCCC. She led her life with steadfast loyalty and devotion to her family especially her children and grandchildren who brought so much happiness to her. Her contagious laugh was never unnoticed in the room as Carol was always unapologetically herself, and remained present in the moment. She held a lovable and generous spirit about her that could be attributed to her trust and faith in God. She set a strong foundation for her children, always as their biggest cheerleader and fiercest protector, and will be forever missed and remembered for her strength and preserverance when life had bumps in the road, always remaining positive and seeking the light in life. Carol is survived by her sons Tom Murphy (Mandy) of North Huntingdon, and Brandon Murphy (Amanda) of Tennessee; her grandchildren Keegan, Harley, Tristan, and Rowan Murphy; sister Margie Kuhns (Dave); brothers David Shirey (Jackie) and Frank Shirey; a host of nieces and nephews, and countless close cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece Neisha Macaset in 2023.
