Bartley Jefferson Sr., 66 of Scottdale passed on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Independence Westmoreland Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on January 3, 1959 in Morgantown, WV, son to the late William "Snookie" L. Jefferson Sr. and Norma Jean (Seals) Jefferson. Bartley was the cornerstone of his family and family gatherings were always a special time for him, he loved manning the grill and cooking for everyone. He was the life of the party. Known for his quick wit, warmth, and boundless generosity, he touched the lives of everyone he met. Bartley was a proud father and Pappy and loved being with his kids and grandkids more than anything. He was a loyal fan to the WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved all things sports, specifically basketball and football. He played basketball in his younger days, and after attending University High School, he worked in several restaurants as a chef. Bartley was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his children, Chanel Jefferson of Nashville, TN, Bartley Jefferson Jr., of Morgantown, WV, and Dominique Jefferson of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Rykien Skarzinski, Ryis Skarzinski, Zaiden Jefferson, Gia Thomas and Kendrick Thomas; adoring sister Cynthia Proctor and her husband Mitchell Proctor of Charles Town WV ; and half-sister Vera Younger of Morgantown, WV. Also left to cherish is the mother of his children and love of his life, Julie Halfhill of Morgantown, WV; additional survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Minerva Morgan; maternal grandparents, Jack and Mazie Seals; two infant siblings, Brenda Joyce and David Lee; brother Charles "Chuck" Jefferson and his wife Tina Jefferson; brother Derrick Jefferson, and brother William “Billy Jack” Jefferson.
