Barclay Hill Reamer, “Shorty”, 89 of Arona died the morning of Monday April 3, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 25, 1933 in his family’s home in Arona, one of eight children to the late Ray and Mary (Steiner) Reamer. Shorty was a graduate of Sewickley High School, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a proud veteran. A man who believed in taking pride in hard work, he became an electrician, taught by his father, and retired from U. S. Steel Christy Park Works in McKeesport. He loved a good cigar, planted beautiful vegetable gardens, and was an avid birdwatcher. Shorty loved his family and his community, serving on Arona Borough Council for many years. He will be remembered for his distinct unapologetic personality.
