Audrey Jean McGill Hunter, 71 of Penn Hills, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 5, 2023, where she died in the comfort of her home. She was born June 17, 1952 in Pittsburgh to the late Christopher Henry Simpson and Pearl Ellen Nix.
Audrey grew up in the Pittsburgh area and after high school she enrolled in the U. S. Army and was a proud veteran. Her military service led her to travel to many areas including North Carolina, Louisiana and overseas in Germany. Audrey was a wonderful baker and after her military service she was the friendly face at Eat and Park in Mckees Rocks for ten years prior to becoming disabled. She loved and collected beautiful dolls, enjoyed crafting and baking, and watching television. Her presence will be forever missed everyday, but her sweet spirit and deep love and dedication for her family will remain in our hearts and comfort us.
Audrey is survived by devoted sister and her husband Elaine E. (Simpson) Rubei and Guy Rubei; niece’s Ashley, Erin, and Sarah; and nephew Christopher Nix Rubei.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved and only son, Jason N. Hunter, who greeted Audrey in heaven.
