Anthony Francis Troy Jr.

Anthony Francis Troy Jr., 68 of Jeannette, died on October 15, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after sustaining fatal injuries from a fall.  He was born in McKeesport on April 12,1955 to the late Anthony F. and Florence (Riggs) Troy.  Anthony was a graduate of Bell Vernon High School and went on to be the friendly face of the school custodian after graduation for many years. He was a real jokester and a flirt who loved to go fishing and hunting, going to play bingo, and ‘junking”. It would be a common practice for Anthony to want to stop and find his treasures along side the road wherever he went.  Above all he was a family man, who had great devotion to his wife, step-children, grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Fond memories of him being fun- spirited, outgoing and bantering with all his animals including his dog, cat, guinea pigs, and bird will forever be remembered.  Anthony’s daily presence, distinct personality and always being unapologetically himself will be missed most by his beloved wife Susan (Shaffer) Troy; his step-sons Dave Frank and Michael Shaffer (Amy); 10 cherished grandchildren and adopted grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Thomas Troy; three nephews, and two nieces; and a few great friends.  In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his sisters; Gloria Schwingling, Florence Troy, and Laverne Troy.
