Mary Ellen (Shuff) Dell

Mary Ellen Dell, 71 of Youngwood, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.  She was born in McKeesport February 4, 1948 to the late Adnire and Betty Shuff.  Mary Ellen was a graduate of the last full class to graduate Port Vue Liberty Highschool in 1966.  While in high school, she attended beauty school in the evenings, earning her beautician license.  She was well known in Youngwood as a master seamstress owning her own sewing machine and vacuum sales and service business with her husband Jim, called J&M Sewing, later growing into Dell Sew and Vac.  Not only was Mary Ellen a seamstress, she taught sewing classes and could repair sewing machines, as well as vacuum cleaners. Following her retirement, you could find Mary Ellen enjoying and appreciating nature, watching the birds on her back porch with her family, dogs, and cats.

         She will be deeply missed by her surviving spouse of 49 years, Jim Dell of Youngwood, her two children Barbara Dell of Youngwood, and Thomas (Teresa) Dell of Wisconsin, four grandchildren; Ryan, Patrick, Mathew, and Jenni , two sisters; Dolores Smith and Sandi Zimerman, two sister-in-laws; Debra Shuff and Peggy (Gary) Gilmore,  six nephews; Doug Gilmore,  John Paul Holden,  Ted (Allison) Holden, Michael Shuff, Ryan (Heather) Shuff,  Jeff (Shannon) Zimerman,  and Jason Zimerman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Shuff, and her father and mother in–law, James J. and Anna Maragret Dell.
